The Thousand Island Bridge crossing is located between Ivy Lea, Ontario, and Fishers Landing, New York (Highway 137, east of Ivy Lea).

Improvements

Ontario has invested about $2 million for improvements to the Highway 137 approach to the Thousand Islands Bridge at Ivy Lea, including installation of Weigh In Motion scales at the Bridge.

The New York Department of Transportation, Thousand Island Bridge Authority and Federal Bridge Corporation Limited are undertaking planning work for the Thousand Island Bridge and the Seaway International Bridge. The study will assess short and long-term requirements to improve capacity and operation and is expected to be complete by the end of 2004. MTO is participating as a steering committee member and contributed $75,000 for the Thousand Island Bridge Study.
