Truck Marshalling Yard

Multi-Use Truck facilities

In December 2006, the Ministry of Transportation issued a Request for Information aimed at different stakeholders and private sector partners with an interest in the development of a truck marshalling yard to serve the Windsor Gateway.

A need and feasibility study to examine whether a truck marshalling yard on Highway 401 in the Windsor-Essex area could reduce border queuing, was completed in early 2008.

Current Project Status:

• A Request for Information (RFI) was released in December 2006.
• A Need and Feasibility Study was completed in February 2008.
• Based on current recommendations, the Ministry of Transportation will not carry forward this concept at this time.
