Huron Church-Industrial Drive Intersection Improvements

On an average day, 170 trucks turn left from Huron Church Road northbound onto Industrial Drive, to access the customs pre-processing facility.

Intersection improvements to extend the northbound left turn lane on Huron Church Road will improve traffic flow by reducing congestion related to truck queues waiting to turn.

Current Project Status

• The Ministry of Transportation tendered this project on May 8, 2006.
• Construction began in June 2006.
• Construction is complete.

Closure of north and south bound Huron Church Road median lanes to facilitate the removal of median planter and the extension of new concrete left turn lane.

Coco Paving preparing for milling of the road surface on Huron Church Road at Industrial Drive. Traffic impacts were minimized through night paving and police signaling.

The new left turn lane extension on Huron Church Road took shape at the beginning of July as Coco Paving placed concrete, finishing the edges by hand.

Applying clear curing compound on the stamped red pigment concrete median on Huron Church Road at Industrial Drive.
