Register a new motor home
To register your new motor home, visit a ServiceOntario centre.
Bring one of the following documents:
- your new vehicle information sheet (NVIS)
- a certificate of origin (if your motor home is from the United States)
The manufacturer or importer should give you the NVIS with the motor home.
Register a used motor home
To register your used motor home, you need to bring supporting documents to a ServiceOntario centre.
For a used motor home previously registered in Ontario, you need:
- the vehicle portion of the Ontario vehicle permit
- an Ontario safety standards certificate
- the bill of sale
- the used vehicle information package (UVIP)
For a used motor home previously registered outside Ontario, you need:
- proof of registration outside Ontario
- an Ontario safety standards certificate
- Registrar of Imported Vehicles form 1 if you got your vehicle from outside of Canada
Changing the year, make and model
To change the year, make and model on a registered motor home, visit a ServiceOntario centre.
Bring all of the following supporting documents:
- the Ontario vehicle permit - the vehicle portion of the permit is required
- one of the documents listed below containing the correct year, make and model:
- the original vehicle manufacturer's warranty
- a copy of the manufacturer's invoice
- a copy of the bill of sale or certificate of sale from the original selling dealer
- a copy of the certificate of title or certificate of origin
- a copy of the new vehicle information statement (NVIS), if applicable
- a letter from a new vehicle dealer who sells same make of vehicle
- a sworn affidavit from the vehicle owner explaining the discrepancy
